Timothée Chalamet Turns 30: Shares Childhood Photos & Gets Serenaded by Susan Boyle
Timothée Chalamet's 30th Birthday: Childhood Photos & Susan Boyle

Hollywood actor Timothée Chalamet has celebrated his milestone 30th birthday by treating his millions of fans to a series of nostalgic childhood photographs on Instagram. The Dune star, who turned 30 on December 27, shared the personal gallery on Sunday, expressing his gratitude for the flood of birthday messages from his 20.4 million followers.

A Nostalgic Look Back: From Football to 'Uncle TimmyTim'

In the heartfelt post, Chalamet offered a glimpse into his younger years. The collection featured sweet moments like playing football and engaging in a game of ping pong with his father, Marc Chalamet. He also included more recent images showing off his shaved head while swimming. The actor captioned the photos: 'THANK U FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES THANK U THANK U THANK U!!!!!! TIMMYTIM IS OFFICIALLY UNC #uncletimmytim'.

In his caption, Chalamet humorously referenced getting older by using the slang term 'unc', a shortened version of 'uncle' often used to imply someone is ageing.

An Unlikely Duet: Susan Boyle's Birthday Serenade

The birthday celebrations took an unexpected and charming turn when Susan Boyle sent the two-time Oscar nominee a personalised video message on Saturday. The 64-year-old Britain's Got Talent legend serenaded Chalamet by singing 'Happy Birthday', blew him a kiss, and wished him a lovely 30th.

This touching tribute came after Chalamet, during the UK promotional tour for his new film Wonka, revealed his admiration for Boyle. He had named her among celebrities he considered "true greats" worthy of receiving a jacket inspired by the movie, a list that also included Justin Bieber, Tom Brady, and Kylie Jenner.

Chalamet was visibly delighted, sharing Boyle's video to his Instagram Stories with the caption 'THANK U SUSAN !!!!!!!!' accompanied by orange heart emojis. He also posted a throwback photo from her iconic 2009 BGT audition, overlaying it with the words 'DREAM BIG'.

A Mutual Admiration Society

The connection began when Chalamet, in an interview with BBC News last week, praised Boyle's viral audition, stating she 'dreamt bigger than all of us'. Deeply moved, Boyle responded on Instagram, calling his words 'incredibly touching' and expressing how humbled she was that the moment still resonated.

She later confirmed receiving the Wonka-inspired jacket, telling the BBC: 'Thanks so much for the kind words once again Timothée... thanks for the jacket, it fits like a glove!'

Boyle, who was catapulted to global fame 16 years ago and has sold 25 million records, is currently preparing a return to music after six years away, following a series of health challenges including a stroke in 2022.
