Thylane Blondeau Announces Engagement to Ben Attal After Romantic Greek Proposal

French model Thylane Blondeau has publicly confirmed her engagement to actor Ben Attal, who proposed during a romantic getaway to Greece. The announcement comes just two months after the tragic death of her stepfather, adding a poignant note to the joyous occasion.

A Picturesque Proposal in Greece

Blondeau, aged 24, shared the news across her social media platforms on Sunday evening, posting photos of the stunning coastal setting where Attal, 28, asked for her hand in marriage. The actor went to great lengths to create a memorable moment, scattering a trail of red rose petals leading to an outdoor table with sweeping views of the sea.

In her heartfelt caption, Blondeau wrote: 'I said yes to my best friend. Here’s to forever.' She also showcased her engagement ring, which features an enormous diamond set in a simple, solid gold band, highlighting the elegance of the gesture.

Blondeau's Rise to Fame and Personal Journey

Thylane Blondeau first entered the fashion industry as a child, walking for Jean Paul Gaultier at just four years old. At age ten, she became the youngest model ever to pose for Vogue Paris. Her fame skyrocketed in 2006 when Vogue Enfants labelled her the 'most beautiful girl in the world', a title she won again in 2018 from TC Candler's annual awards list.

However, her early editorial work faced criticism for being overly sexualised, with Blondeau wearing short dresses and makeup. Her mother, fashion designer Veronika Loubry, defended the cover, noting that the only shocking element was a necklace worth 3 million euros.

Blondeau's personal life has seen significant changes. She began dating Ben Attal in 2020, shortly after ending a previous relationship with French DJ Milane Meritte. Her parents, Patrick Blondeau and Veronika Loubry, were married from 2002 to 2016 before divorcing. Loubry later moved on with producer Gérard Kadoche, who became Blondeau's stepfather and was engaged to her mother before his death from pancreatic cancer in December.

A Tribute to Her Stepfather

Following Kadoche's passing, Blondeau paid a moving tribute on social media, sharing family photos and expressing her grief. She wrote: 'My Gégé. If you only knew how much we already miss you… We're so miserable without you.' She praised his strength during his battle with cancer and promised to care for her family in his absence, adding: 'I promise I'll take care of Mom, my little brother, and my sisters forever.'

This engagement marks a new chapter for Blondeau, blending joy with recent loss, as she and Attal look forward to their future together.
