David Walliams enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker set at Pinewood Studios on Thursday, accompanied by Anthony Daniels, who plays C-3PO. The 48-year-old comedian encountered props including Chewbacca and a lifelike depiction of Rey.
Walliams documented the visit on Instagram, calling it 'the best day out ever'. He credited his university friend Callum Greene, executive producer of the film, for the opportunity. 'The film is astonishingly good and it was incredible for me, my son and nephews to see the artistry,' he wrote.
The tour included alien creatures such as rebel general Admiral Raddus and a six-eyed Azumel species member. Walliams also showed fans Han Solo's pistol. The Rise of Skywalker, the final instalment of the nine-film saga, was released on Thursday.
Walliams's children's books have generated £100 million in sales, with The Boy In The Dress selling a million copies. His estimated £25 million fortune has grown, with earnings of £13 million in 2019.
