Take That have delivered a stunning surprise to their loyal fanbase by embedding a brand new love song within their Netflix documentary series, which launched today on the streaming platform. The track, titled 'You're A Superstar', can only be heard during the closing credits of the documentary's third and final episode, creating an exclusive musical treat for viewers.
A Strategic Tease for Upcoming Material
Sources close to the iconic pop band have confirmed that this hidden gem serves as the first official track from a forthcoming Take That album, scheduled for release later in 2026. The strategic placement was a deliberate creative decision by the band members.
A source revealed: "The band thought it would be a fantastic surprise and a special treat for fans at the conclusion of the Netflix series. This approach provides a brilliant way to tease their new material, with the full single expected to arrive very soon."
Documentary Delves Into Band's Complex History
While the closing song offers an upbeat, romantic tone with lyrics celebrating love and admiration, the three-part documentary itself presents a more nuanced portrait. It charts both the spectacular highs and significant lows of Take That's remarkable 35-year journey, featuring rare archive material, never-before-seen footage, and personal insights.
The series includes new interviews with current members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, and Mark Owen, alongside archive interviews with former members Jason Orange and Robbie Williams. Gary Barlow admitted that revisiting certain periods, particularly the challenging time after the band's initial breakup, was emotionally difficult.
"Some of it was hard to watch – especially that middle hour, which covers the period after the band broke up," Barlow confessed. "It was just a hard, hard time. I am quite good at leaving things in the past. I'm not a regretful person, and I was happy to leave it behind. So, seeing those memories brought to life on screen again was strange."
Maintaining Legendary Status and Physical Demands
Formed in 1990, Take That have cemented their status as one of Britain's most successful pop acts, achieving an impressive 12 Number 1 singles and nine Number 1 albums in the UK alone. The band, now a trio following the departures of Jason Orange and Robbie Williams, continues to maintain an ambitious schedule.
They are preparing to launch 'The Circus' tour in May, a revival of their hugely successful 2009 production. However, the members acknowledge the increased physical demands of performing as they grow older. Howard Donald recently discussed their health and fitness regimes.
"We have to look after our bodies," Donald explained. "We watch what food we eat, do Pilates, which I need for my core, so my back doesn't go. I've got sorer knees than in the Nineties, but we try to do as much dancing on stage as possible. It's the satisfaction of sweating your ass off. If we're all sat on stools, it wouldn't be Take That."
Gratitude for Enduring Fan Support
Gary Barlow expressed profound gratitude for the band's dedicated audience, whose unwavering support has sustained their career across decades. His words highlight the deep connection between the band and their followers.
"These days, that gorgeous audience, I want to go around and kiss one by one, because they've loved us and they've made us part of their lives for years and years, and they still keep coming," Barlow said emotionally.
The revelation of the hidden song follows Barlow's previous hint in May 2025 that a tenth Take That album was in development. At that time, he indicated the band's relentless work ethic, stating they had moved straight from touring into the studio to create new material.
The three-part documentary series 'Take That' is available to stream now on Netflix. Meanwhile, 'The Circus' tour begins in Southampton on May 29th and will continue across the UK until July 4th, with tickets available through the band's official website.
