Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood in Neighbour Row Over 'Excessive Noise' at £1.8m Mansion

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood is reportedly at the centre of a dispute with his neighbours over plans to raise the terrace around his pool at his £1.8 million countryside home. The 60-year-old has applied for planning permission to build a raised terrace area, but neighbours have objected, claiming there is already 'excessive noise' from pool parties he hosts.

According to a letter of objection seen by The Sun, one neighbour wrote: 'Without vegetation along their low wall, there is already excessive noise heard from their garden when they regularly entertain. Raising the terrace area will exacerbate this if no trees or noise reduction is installed along the low walls by the gates.'

The neighbour added that the noise from the garden is 'already quite substantial' and would be 'accentuated' by the raised area due to low walls and lack of vegetation. They said they would not object if noise reduction measures, such as trees, were put in place.

Craig has also had to call in the Environment Agency after experiencing flooding in his garden during previous renovation works, which involved demolishing walls and digging foundations. The new application includes plans for flood compensation works.

The Strictly star purchased the property in 2021 and has previously spoken about his move from London, citing the 'tiring' nature of city life and unwanted attention from celebrity spotters. Council officials are due to make a decision on the planning application next month.
