Rita Ora was seen enjoying a dinner outing with poker player Driss at Sushi Park in West Hollywood on Wednesday evening. The 35-year-old singer opted for a relaxed, casual look for the occasion.
Rita Ora's Casual Evening Look
The hitmaker wrapped up in a black padded coat to ward off the evening chill. She paired this with wide-legged black trousers and accessorised with a navy bandana. Ora wore her blonde hair tucked in neatly and completed her ensemble with a light, natural palette of makeup.
Dinner Companion Driss
Her dining companion was American entrepreneur and art collector Driss, who resides in Gardena, California, according to reports from toppokerstreamers.com. Driss sported a light blue hoodie and dark trousers during the evening. He was observed showing Rita something on his mobile phone as they conversed.
Driss has made two appearances on the livestream poker show Hustler Casino Live. Notably, one of these appearances featured him playing alongside Benny Blanco, the husband of pop star Selena Gomez.
Rita Ora on Stepmotherhood and Marriage
In a recent revelation, Rita Ora described becoming a stepmother as a 'real eye opener'. She entered this role after marrying film director Taika Waititi four years ago. The union made her stepmother to Waititi's two daughters: Te Kāinga o te Hinekāhu, aged 13, and Matewa Kiritapu, aged nine.
Insights into Her Marriage
Last year, Ora offered rare insight into her marriage, crediting a strong friendship as the cornerstone of her romantic relationship with Waititi. She explained to a publication, 'Taika and I are basically just best friends and we wanted to just live in that element forever, I guess.'
The couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony in August 2022, with Ora breaking tradition by being the one to propose. Their low-key Los Angeles wedding was not confirmed by the pair until a year later. Rita told Grazia magazine they 'winged it with zero planning'.
Reflecting on her relationship history, Ora mentioned that after years of not finding the right partner during her 'messy twenties', getting together with Waititi felt 'right and safe'. The pair began dating in March 2021 and went public with their romance that August. Prior to their romantic involvement, they had been close friends for five years.
The Stepmother Experience
In a rare comment about her family life, Ora opened up about how being a stepmother has shifted her worldview. Speaking to The Sun, she said she finds the role 'easy' but confessed it helped her grasp that there is much more to life.
'It's really easy. We wake up, we work out together with the kids running on the treadmills, it's a family affair,' she shared. 'I have to say it's been a real eye-opener to understand that sometimes there's more to life than what you care about in that moment. I've realised there's so much more, so [becoming a stepmother] did give me that.'
Film director Taika Waititi shares his two children with his ex-wife, Chelsea Winstanley, also 50. The couple split in 2018 after seven years of marriage.
