The claims ignited weeks of intense online scrutiny, leading Bellamy to issue several statements defending her work. In a video address to her followers, Bellamy admitted her recipes were not entirely original but insisted they were personal creations. 'While all of these recipes are personal to me, I cannot say that I have invented the cookies, cupcakes, brownies or cakes in the recipe book. They are all inspired from somewhere and someone before me,' she explained.
Bellamy pointed to her mother as her primary inspiration, stating she learned to cook and bake with her growing up, and rejected the suggestion of theft, arguing that many recipes naturally share similarities.
