The search for the next James Bond has received a royal endorsement from the family of 007 legend Pierce Brosnan. His son, Paris Brosnan, has publicly sent his best wishes to the actor who will eventually assume the iconic role, over two decades after his father last played the suave spy.
Support from Bond Royalty
The hunt for a new Bond has been ongoing since Daniel Craig stepped down from the part in 2021, with actor Jacob Elordi currently leading as the bookmakers' favourite to take on the mantle. Now, Pierce Brosnan's son Paris has weighed in on the high-stakes casting decision, offering encouragement to whoever ends up nabbing the coveted role.
A Family Affair
Speaking exclusively with The Daily Mail at Clarins' Night of Extra soirée, Paris, 25, shared his thoughts on the search for the next actor destined to utter the famous 'shaken, not stirred' line. 'Wish him the best,' he said simply, demonstrating the Brosnan family's continued connection to the Bond legacy.
The son of Pierce Brosnan and his wife, documentary filmmaker Keely Shaye Smith, Paris has been pursuing his own career in the arts, recently debuting his first exhibition in London titled 'Collective Energy.' He spoke warmly about his father's support for his artistic endeavors, calling Pierce 'incredible' and noting that the former Bond star attended his London exhibition to show his support.
Carving His Own Path
Paris Brosnan represents a new generation of the family that is redefining what it means to be a 'nepo baby.' While his father is a famous actor and his mother a respected documentary filmmaker, Paris has been diligently carving his own path outside of Hollywood's traditional structures.
His mysterious and unique artworks flood his Instagram account, showcasing his genuine passion for the craft. Recently, he gave a BMW the spray paint treatment at his exhibition debut, demonstrating his innovative approach to art.
Philanthropic Endeavors
Beyond his artistic pursuits, Paris has demonstrated a significant philanthropic spirit. He worked with the World Food Program during a trip to Sri Lanka with Clarins, calling it 'an incredible experience.' During this trip, he collaborated with Lauren Bush, granddaughter of former president George H.W. Bush, and her FEED Project.
'I love Clarins. I started working with them almost like seven, eight years ago now, and we went on a trip to Sri Lanka,' he told The Daily Mail. 'We did work with the World Food Program, and Lauren Bush, Lauren from FEED, and it was an incredible trip.'
Fatherly Advice
Interestingly, while Paris has dabbled in acting and has an upcoming role, his father Pierce has previously revealed that he actively discouraged his children from following in his Hollywood footsteps. In a 2022 interview with GQ, Pierce explained his reasoning bluntly: 'Just because it is f***ing hard work. It's a cross to bear. You're constructing and destroying yourself.'
Despite this warning, Pierce has been a fierce supporter of his son's artistic endeavors, even posting proudly about Paris's exhibition on Instagram: 'So proud of you @paris.brosnan 'COLLECTIVE ENERGY' Thursday, 26th February Clarendon Fine Art Mayfair, UK. Join LA-based artist Paris Brosnan at the launch of his UK debut to experience his vibrant Art which explores human connection, energy & the rhythm of shared experience.'
As the Bond franchise continues its search for Daniel Craig's successor, the support from the Brosnan family adds a touching layer of continuity to the iconic spy series, while Paris himself continues to build his reputation as an artist and philanthropist in his own right.
