Patsy Kensit has disclosed a secret romance with the late Hollywood icon Terence Stamp, describing him as 'the most beautiful man I’d ever seen'. The 57-year-old actress claimed she fell for the Superman legend in the early 1990s, when she was 23 and he was 53.
In an interview with The Sun, Kensit recalled meeting Stamp at a party in London before they both starred in the 1991 crime thriller Prince of Shadows, filmed in Madrid. She said: 'We were star-crossed lovers and he was a total gentleman. Even though there was an age gap, we had a strong bond. He was an amazing and generous lover.'
Kensit revealed that Stamp wrote her 'wonderful love letters about lucid dreams he had', adding: 'His handwriting was like art. I’ve still got them in storage; I couldn’t bear to part with them.' She also noted that Stamp corresponded with her mother, who was dying of cancer, encouraging her to take supplements and eat certain foods.
Stamp, who was Oscar-nominated for his role in Billy Budd, died in August last year at the age of 87. He was married once, to Elizabeth O'Rourke from 2002 to 2008, and had high-profile relationships with Julie Christie and Jean Shrimpton.
Kensit, who has been married four times including to Liam Gallagher, said she has given up on relationships and is focusing on herself. She is reportedly planning her memoirs, which may include further revelations about past romances.
