Patsy Kensit Reveals Secret Affair with Terence Stamp

British actress Patsy Kensit has publicly revealed for the first time that she engaged in a clandestine romantic relationship with the esteemed actor Terence Stamp when she was in her early twenties. Kensit, now 57 years old, detailed how the affair commenced during the early 1990s while the pair were collaborating on the Spanish crime thriller film Prince of Shadows, which was shot on location in Madrid.

A Fateful Introduction and On-Set Reunion

According to Kensit's account shared with The Sun newspaper, the two performers were initially introduced at an intimate dinner party held in the Chelsea area of London, facilitated by a mutual acquaintance. Shortly after this social encounter, Kensit was cast in the role of Rebeca for Prince of Shadows. She personally advocated for Stamp to be given the lead role of Darman, a suggestion that successfully reunited them on the film set in Spain.

Describing a Star-Crossed Connection

Reflecting on their time together, Kensit characterised their relationship as one between 'star-crossed lovers', praising Stamp as 'a total gentleman'. She openly acknowledged the significant age difference between them but emphasised the profound connection they shared. 'Even though there was an age gap, we had a strong bond,' Kensit stated. 'He was an amazing and generous lover.'

Following the conclusion of principal photography, the romance continued discreetly in London. Kensit would frequently visit Stamp at his residential flat situated in the Piccadilly district. She now looks back on that period with evident fondness, describing it retrospectively as a 'lost few months in my life'.

The Romance's End and Later Tributes

The intimate relationship eventually dissipated when Kensit departed the United Kingdom to film the movie Timebomb in 1991. She has since admitted that she was the one who chose to terminate the affair, remarking that she was 'young and stupid' at the time.

Terence Stamp, who earned an Academy Award nomination and is perhaps best remembered globally for his portrayal of the villain General Zod in the original Superman and Superman II films, passed away in Los Angeles in August 2025 at the age of 87. His family released a statement honouring his 'extraordinary body of work' and requesting privacy during their period of mourning.

Kensit's Contemporary Family Life

This revelation about her past emerges shortly after Patsy Kensit shared a heartfelt personal tribute to her son, Lennon, on social media. The EastEnders actress posted a nostalgic childhood photograph of Lennon, now 26, which depicted a moment from a past birthday celebration. In an accompanying caption, she expressed immense pride and love for both Lennon and her older son, James, 32.

Kensit was married to Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher from 1997 until their separation in 2000, just months after Lennon's birth. Her eldest son, James, is from her previous marriage to Simple Minds vocalist Jim Kerr. In her recent online post, Kensit reflected on her blessings and expressed gratitude for the time spent with her children.
