The family of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne has opened up about the strange and sometimes disturbing messages they have received since his death, including one woman who is utterly convinced she is his secret daughter.
Bizarre Claims and DNA Evidence
During the latest episode of The Osbournes podcast, Sharon Osbourne and her children Kelly and Jack shared details of their first joint conversation since the Black Sabbath icon died of a heart attack in July at the age of 76.
Sharon, 73, explained that the family has been inundated with attempts to contact them, including from individuals insisting they have a personal connection to the late singer.
Kelly, 41, stated, "We've had quite a few nutters coming out of the woodwork saying that they're speaking to dad from the grave." Sharon then added one of the most shocking revelations, disclosing, "We had one lady send us her toenails."
Kelly continued the bizarre story, confirming the package contained more than just nail clippings. "It was a toenail, some blood, hair, because she's absolutely convinced that she is dad's child," she said.
A Family's Grief and Solace
While the Osbournes have learned to take such eccentric claims in their stride, they spoke candidly about the profound pain of adjusting to life without Ozzy.
Sharon emotionally admitted she struggles with loneliness, recalling a promise she made to him before his passing. "I hate going to bed at night," she confessed. "I hate going into a room, empty."
Kelly revealed that she stayed close to her mother in the immediate aftermath, saying, "I slept with you for the first two months so that you weren't on your own. But then I felt like you needed some space." In contrast, Jack shared that he has found solitude helpful for processing his own grief.
Plans for a Tribute and Royal Condolences
The rock legend died just weeks after a triumphant homecoming performance at Villa Park in Birmingham. The family is now considering organising a tribute show in his honour.
When asked if plans were moving forward, Sharon confirmed, "I'm talking to the Villa again. You know, we'll see."
The podcast also touched upon the overwhelming support they have received from around the world, including a particularly touching gesture from King Charles.
Jack revealed, "We got a lovely letter from the King," which prompted Sharon to praise the monarch's consistent kindness. "Our King is an amazing person," she said. "He is an amazing person, not just because he wrote to us when Ozzy passed, but if he did it for us, know he does it for many, many, many people."
She added that Charles had also reached out after Ozzy's serious quad-bike accident in 2003, stating, "He's got a good heart. He didn't have to do certain things that he's done for Ozzy."
Ozzy, who had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and faced several health complications in recent years, was laid to rest in Birmingham on July 30. In a fitting tribute, the Band of the Coldstream Guards performed his song Paranoid during the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
