Ozzy Osbourne Slams Kanye West for Unauthorised Sample Use

Ozzy Osbourne has publicly criticised Kanye West for using a sample of a Black Sabbath song without permission, branding the rapper an 'antisemite'. In a post on X, Osbourne said he had denied a request to use a portion of a 1983 live version of 'War Pigs' on West's new album, but heard it had been played at a listening party anyway.

'I refused permission because he is an antisemite and has caused untold heartache to many,' Osbourne wrote. 'I want no association with this man!' His wife, Sharon Osbourne, recently told the Jewish Chronicle: 'Judaism is the only religion I have, and the only one with which I feel comfortable.'

The listening party for West and Ty Dolla $ign's joint project 'Vultures' took place in Chicago this week. The album had been delayed from December, reportedly due to Nicki Minaj refusing to allow an old collaboration to be used. 'Regarding Kanye: that train has left the station, OK?' she said.

It was reported that a live feed of the event was cut after West rapped: 'And I'm still crazy, bipolar, antisemite. And I'm still the king.' At the end of 2023, West apologised for previous antisemitic comments, including praising Adolf Hitler and threatening 'death con 3' on Jewish people, drawing condemnation from Joe Biden and the Anti-Defamation League.

West had previously paid tribute to Black Sabbath on his track 'Hell of a Life', inspired by the song 'Iron Man'.
