The water company has confirmed residents in east London and north west London are facing separate supply problems, leading to reports of 'no water' in some areas. Thames Water also has confirmed issues are affecting a huge swathe of the Home Counties around London, including postcodes in Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Bedfordshire.

The issues come on the first day of Britain's third heatwave of the summer. Overnight temperatures are around 24C in London, with a forecast of 33C set for Thursday (July 8), according to the Met Office.
