Multiple issues have hit Thames Water's network across London and the home counties as the UK enters its third heatwave of the summer.
Supply Problems Across London and Home Counties
The water company has confirmed residents in east London and north west London are facing separate supply problems, leading to reports of 'no water' in some areas. Thames Water also has confirmed issues are affecting a huge swathe of the Home Counties around London, including postcodes in Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Bedfordshire.
The issues come on the first day of Britain's third heatwave of the summer. Overnight temperatures are around 24C in London, with a forecast of 33C set for Thursday (July 8), according to the Met Office.
Impact and Response
Thames Water has not provided a timeline for when the outage will be resolved. Customers are advised to check the company's website for updates. The outage is expected to exacerbate water demand during the heatwave, with potential health risks for vulnerable individuals.
