Offset Makes Dramatic Coachella Return in Wheelchair After Shooting
Rapper Offset has stunned fans by returning to the stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in a wheelchair, mere days after being shot outside a Florida casino. The artist, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was involved in an altercation at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, just north of Miami, on Monday night, which resulted in the shooting.
Recovery and Rapid Return to Performing
On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the rapper confirmed he was in stable condition, though his exact health status remained unclear. Police indicated the injuries were not life-threatening. By Friday, a representative announced, "Offset has been released from the hospital, and he is up and walking." The statement expressed gratitude to medical staff for their care.
Despite the terrifying ordeal, Offset did not rest at home. Instead, he took to the stage at Coachella on Saturday night, showcasing his resilience. He shared a video on Instagram capturing the moment he arrived in a wheelchair before standing up to deliver a powerful performance, much to the delight of the packed audience.

The crowd erupted into cheers as Offset stood, with fans holding their hands in the air and throwing cups of water in celebration. On Instagram, he captioned the post "Real love" alongside a red heart emoji. Fellow musicians and fans flooded the comments with support. Busta Rhymes responded with fire emojis, while Felix The Sultan wrote, "May Allah continues to protect you brother... True."
Fans expressed relief and admiration, with one commenting, "I'm glad he's able to be there and perform. Life is precious. He definitely had his guardian angel watching over him." Another added, "Good job Offset, so happy to see you back on track, God is great." Offset had previously thanked fans for their support in a statement, reflecting on his recovery and future plans.
Police Investigation and Arrests
Earlier in the week, police detained two individuals in connection with the incident. Rapper Lil Tjay, born Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle without a valid license. A second person was detained but not charged, as investigators continue to identify others involved.
Seminole County police released a statement detailing the incident, noting it occurred in a valet area after 7 pm Monday, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries. They assured the public that the situation was contained quickly, the site was secure, and there was no ongoing threat.
