Nicola Peltz's Social Media Moves Could Backfire In Beckham Row

Nicola Peltz has been accused of undermining her own calls for privacy by selectively engaging with social media comments that appear to support her husband Brooklyn Beckham in his reported rift with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.

The actress, who turned 31 last week, liked several comments on her TikTok birthday post that suggested Brooklyn was justified in cutting ties with his family. One comment read: 'There's obviously a reason why Brooklyn doesn't speak with his parents... no child would ever choose to cut off their parents without good reason.' Another praised Brooklyn for joining 'such a nice family', referring to the Peltzes.

PR expert Mayah Riaz said the move was a calculated strategy that could backfire. 'You can't ask for privacy and then drip-feed domestic moments on the very day the spotlight is on your mother, who you have been so vindictive about,' she told the Mirror. 'Even a single like can be louder than if they were to give a press statement.'

The likes came on the same day Victoria Beckham received France's Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters honour. Brooklyn and Nicola posted romantic TikTok clips of themselves on that day, with Brooklyn captioned 'I love you'.

Riaz added: 'If their game plan is to present a calm, loved-up front, then this approach is backfiring. What it's creating instead is a narrative of quiet rebellion. The public doesn't read this as privacy, they read it as strategy.'

Observers have noted parallels with Nicola's previous relationship with Anwar Hadid, where she reportedly wanted to be her partner's 'first priority' and praised his family before tensions emerged.
