Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham attacked with unknown substance in Los Angeles

Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, 76, was attacked in Los Angeles on Wednesday when a woman threw an unidentified substance at him as he arrived for an appointment in Santa Monica. The suspect fled the scene, and Buckingham is reported to have been uninjured.

Law enforcement sources described the woman as a stalking suspect, and Buckingham was reportedly aware of her from prior incidents. The Los Angeles Police Department's Threat Management Unit is investigating alongside the Santa Monica Police Department, with an arrest expected soon.

This incident comes over a year after Buckingham was granted a permanent restraining order against a stalker named Michelle in December 2024. At that hearing, he presented evidence including a photo taken outside his home and an audio clip. The judge extended a previous temporary order, providing five years of protection.

Buckingham alleged that Michelle had obtained his wife Kristen's business number and left messages claiming to be his child, threatening to kill him and his family. He denied being her father and stated she was not known to him personally. Michelle also reportedly blamed him for facial deformities she suffered as a child and demanded money.

After police instructed Michelle to cease contact in 2022, Buckingham believed the matter resolved. However, in 2024, she allegedly left a collage of photos outside his house. The following weeks saw police handcuffing Buckingham at his home based on a 911 call.
