Meghan Markle sparks Cotswold fury as neighbours 'buzzing with complaints'

Meghan Markle has sparked backlash among her Cotswold neighbours, who are reportedly 'buzzing with complaints' in the local WhatsApp group. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, moved to the area when they returned to the UK in August.

Since the move, Meghan has been spotted at Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire, enjoying afternoon tea with a friend, and also visiting the farm shop.

Claims of 'tempers' and 'special treatment'

Discussing the visit on the At Home With Vanessa podcast, host Vanessa told guests that she had been told there had been "tempers" and demands "of certain treatment" during the visit to the popular venue. Journalist and royal commentator Daisy McAndrew then chimed in to add she had also heard similar reports.

She said: "I happen to be in a WhatsApp group of the village that is next to Soho. So I have a house that we rent out there and I can tell you that that WhatsApp group has been absolutely alive and buzzing with complaints.

"Now some of them are just you know, 'I heard fourth hand, fifth hand', a lot of those people do spend an awful lot of time [there], it's walking distance to Soho Farmhouse. And there has been stories about special treatment," she claimed.

Security concerns and local grumblings

The commentator continued to add that it is likely Meghan would have received special treatment due to security concerns. She said: "On the other hand, you can imagine that her security would not want her going down you know the front gate, they might want her going into the back gate and all that sort of palava would irritate the locals considerably.

"So yes there's definitely been grumblings and complaints going on."

Since returning to the UK, the Sussexes have expressed their security concerns, having changed their children's school due to fears after just two days. The school the children attend and the area the family live has not been published anywhere by the media.

Instagram posts and school change

Despite this, Telegraph columnist William Sitwell claims that Meghan is sending the message "I dare you to publish where we're living" through her posts on Instagram. The Duchess has posted several snippets of their new life in England on her social media account, featuring videos and photos of the children from behind. The latest clip shows Archie and Lilibet side by side on a tree-lined country road.
