Meg Mathews Hosts Glamorous 60th Birthday Celebration in London
Meg Mathews, the former Britpop icon, commanded attention as she celebrated her milestone 60th birthday with an elegant gathering at Sale e Pepe Mare, located within The Langham Hotel in London. The event, held on Wednesday, saw Mathews looking radiant in a chic white crop top that accentuated her toned midriff, paired with a matching blazer and trousers. She completed the ensemble with platform trainers, her blonde hair flowing freely, and stylish glasses.
Star-Studded Guest List and Fashion Highlights
Among the attendees was her daughter Anais, whom she shares with ex-husband Noel Gallagher. Anais opted for a brown shirt and skirt combination, layered with a white sheer blouse and black boots. She was accompanied by her boyfriend, actor Callum Scott Howells from It's A Sin, who wore a brown shirt and navy trousers.
The party also featured notable figures such as Jo Wood, who sported a black lace blouse with a matching blazer and dark brown trousers, and Sadie Frost, who chose a simple black dress with a low-cut neckline. Comedian Alan Carr added a splash of colour with a floral shirt and blue trousers, posing alongside Meg and fellow comedian Lee Peart.
Meg's Menopause Advocacy and Personal Journey
Beyond the festivities, Meg Mathews has become a prominent voice in menopause awareness, using her platform to combat stigma. She began experiencing symptoms at age 49, initially mistaking them for glandular fever due to a lack of information. Through personal research, she identified 32 out of 34 lesser-known symptoms, including burning mouth, mood swings, sleep issues, hair loss, and low libido.
Determined to ease her experience, Mathews has developed a comprehensive wellness regimen. She practices intermittent fasting from 8pm to 8am, which she credits for increased energy and bodily repair. Her diet is 99% plant-based, featuring leafy greens, occasional fish, and nut milks fortified with calcium. A typical day includes a 500ml green juice made from cucumber, celery, kale, spinach, rocket, and fennel, followed by a vegetable stew for lunch and a tuna niçoise salad for dinner.
Daily Routine and Health Practices
Now residing in Cornwall, Mathews embraces an active lifestyle, spending time in the sea and working with a personal trainer three times weekly. Her exercise schedule alternates between upper body, lower body, cardio, and rest days. She wakes at 6 am, meditates for five minutes, walks her dog Ziggy along coastal paths, and participates in a 40-minute HIIT class on Instagram TV, followed by yoga and foam rolling.
To support her health, she uses Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) with Lenzetto spray, takes Omega 3, collagen, and hyaluronic acid supplements, and incorporates CBD oil for anxiety. She also emphasises vaginal health with Vagirux tablets and advocates for regular masturbation using products from Lora DiCarlo. For relaxation, she avoids social media doomscrolling, practices grounding sessions outdoors, and uses red light therapy in winter.
Looking Ahead with Optimism
Reflecting on her journey, Mathews encourages others to embrace life's unpredictability. "Who knows what the future really holds? So much of my life hasn't been planned – you've just got to go for it most of the time," she shared. From her hedonistic past to her current health-focused chapter, she remains dedicated to wellness and inspiring others through her advocacy and personal example.
