Television and radio personality Lizzie Cundy, aged 57, showcased her vibrant holiday spirit on Monday with a series of swimsuit photos in Barbados, playfully emulating the iconic Baywatch style. The former WAG looked stunning in a fiery red one-piece, posing for sizzling snaps on the sun-drenched beach, capturing attention with her confident display.
A Nostalgic Homage to Baywatch
Lizzie completed her beach ensemble with a pair of sleek black sunglasses, tying her blonde highlighted hair into a swooped side plait and accessorising with a simple gold chain. She captioned the Instagram post, 'It’s sizzling! Doing my best Baywatch. Def going to Seas the Day', referencing the hotly anticipated Baywatch reboot currently filming in Los Angeles.
New Stars Revive a Classic Series
The upcoming Baywatch iteration, set to air for 12 episodes, features new lead stars Noah Beck, 24, and Jessica Belkin, 23, who have recently begun filming, stepping into the iconic swimsuits once worn by original icons David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. Additional cast members include Brooks Nader, Shay Mitchell, and Hassie Harrison, promising a fresh take on the beloved series that ran from 1989 to 2001.
Originally following the lives of lifeguards patrolling Los Angeles beaches, Baywatch starred Hasselhoff as Mitch Buchannon and launched Anderson to fame as C.J. Parker. Despite mixed critical reviews, the show became the most-watched TV programme globally during its run, later rebranded as Baywatch: Hawaii for its final two years, featuring future movie star Jason Momoa.
Personal Tragedy Behind the Smiles
Lizzie's joyful holiday posts come amid a period of profound personal grief. Her beloved brother, Peter Miller, suddenly died on New Year's Eve while she was in Barbados with friends Claire Sweeney and Paul Cavalier. The devastating news arrived via a life-changing phone call, later revealing Peter had suffered a cardiac arrest, leaving Lizzie fearful of similar health risks.
In a recent interview, Lizzie disclosed that her 91-year-old mother, Gloria Miller, discovered Peter's body. After his burial in January, Lizzie shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, posting a collage of photos over the years alongside a blackboard reading, 'A celebration of Peter Miller's life', and childhood images in black and white.
A Heartfelt Farewell
Accompanying the memorial photos, Lizzie wrote, 'A final sad farewell to my brother ... Thank you to all who attended and sent beautiful messages and thoughts. Peter would have loved the send-off with Chelsea FC’s theme tune playing. We are all so sad beyond belief. Grief is the price you pay for love …See you on the other side, Pete. Sleep tight bro.'
This emotional backdrop adds depth to Lizzie's vibrant Barbados display, highlighting her resilience as she balances public celebration with private mourning, all while paying homage to a classic television series poised for a modern revival.
