Chaotic scenes unfolded at a north London music venue on Friday evening as Brit Pop icon Liam Gallagher found himself at the centre of an enthusiastic fan swarm. The former Oasis frontman, looking characteristically giddy, was attending a Miles Kane gig at the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm to support his youngest son Gene, whose band Villanelle was performing as support.
Fan Encounter Turns Manic
The incident began when a group of young music fans, suspecting Gallagher might be present to watch his son perform, decided to attempt a meeting with the legendary rock star. Cameron Doran, an 18-year-old musician from Southend who fronts the band Southern Heights, was accompanied by his bandmates Liam Conway, Charlie Branch, George Wells, and Ben Hasler, all aged between 18 and 19.
After confirming Gallagher's presence in the VIP section, the group began shouting to get his attention. The 53-year-old singer responded with his trademark bullish enthusiasm, shouting "Come on then!" across the venue. Despite security personnel attempting to hold the excited fans back, they managed to break through and surround Gallagher, who appeared to thoroughly enjoy the interaction with his younger admirers.
VIP Treatment After the Scramble
Following the brief but intense encounter, security eventually escorted the group away from Gallagher. However, the Oasis star made sure the meeting ended memorably by signing a CD for one of the fans. Remarkably, the teenagers were then allowed to remain in the VIP section for the rest of the concert, where they had the opportunity to meet both Gene Gallagher, 25, and Liam's eldest son Lennon Gallagher, 26.
"We looked up to the VIP section and saw what looked like Liam Gallagher," Cameron Doran explained afterwards. "After a while, we confirmed it was definitely Liam and were determined to get in. In our heads we like Miles Kane but Liam is our priority at this point."
The young musician added: "We then started to shout his name and he heard, looked over and started shouting 'Come on then' to us as he could see security were holding us back. But we ran through and got our pictures and videos before security got us - and he signed a CD for us."
Gallagher's Country Retreat
The concert incident comes as Gallagher prepares for a significant lifestyle change, having recently purchased a £4.2 million mansion in the picturesque village of Coates near Cirencester. The area has become something of a celebrity enclave, with residents including Sir David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Simon Cowell, and Ellen DeGeneres, while Beyoncé and Jay-Z are also rumoured to be considering property purchases there.
Gallagher's new country home, previously owned by former Arsenal and England football legend Tony Adams, sits on five acres of prime countryside and includes numerous luxury amenities such as a swimming pool, tennis courts, and stables. The property even features a separate two-bedroom cottage, potentially useful for when his brother Noel might visit.
Local Welcome Awaits
The rock star's move to the Cotswolds has been met with enthusiasm from local residents. Luke Bartels, 30-year-old manager at the Elliot Arms pub in nearby Cirencester, extended a warm welcome to the area's newest celebrity resident.
"I am sure a lot of people will love that he is coming to the area," Bartels commented. "It will be great if he comes to the pub. We will drown him in Madri. If he wants to pop into the Elliot Arms and we organise a jam, I would be so up for that."
The drummer added: "Welcome to the quiet life. Everything is calm and chill. Hope you enjoy your time. It will be great for all the pubs around. Big warm welcome."
This permanent move follows Gallagher's previous temporary relocation to a magnificent Downton Abbey-style 11-bedroom country mansion near Stroud, Gloucestershire, which he reportedly rented for £19,000 per month prior to last year's Oasis reunion tour preparations.
