Keith Urban Reportedly Heartbroken Over Daughter's Public Snub
Country music star Keith Urban is said to be 'heartbroken' and 'just numb' following an apparent public snub by his eldest daughter, Sunday Rose. The 17-year-old model, in a recent interview with Elle Australia for its March edition, exclusively praised her mother, actress Nicole Kidman, 58, while making no mention of her rocker father.
Sunday Rose's Glowing Tribute to Nicole Kidman
During the sit-down conversation, Sunday was quick to highlight Nicole Kidman as one of the biggest creative inspirations in her life. She credited her mother with sparking her interest in modelling, recalling how the Australian A-lister used to take her to photo shoots as a young child.
'My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life,' Sunday told the publication. 'She is a key part of everything I do.'
Sunday added that Nicole had offered crucial industry advice, emphasising the importance of always being on time. While discussing good travel habits, she again referenced her mother's guidance, with Keith Urban conspicuously absent from any acknowledgment.
Insider Reveals Keith Urban's Emotional Turmoil
The interview has reportedly deeply affected Keith, with an insider revealing to New Idea that the singer is struggling to process the public omission. 'Keith doesn’t know what to say, but he’s trying to put on a brave front,' the source disclosed. 'He knows he has to be patient; however, this latest snub – so publicly, there in black and white – has stumped him.'
Family Dynamics Post-Divorce
Keith has not been seen publicly with Sunday and her younger sister, Faith Margaret, 15, since he and Nicole announced the end of their 19-year marriage in September last year. The divorce was finalised in January, with Nicole retaining majority custody of their daughters.
Under the parenting plan, Nicole will spend 306 days a year with the girls, while Keith will have 59 days. The last public appearance of Keith with his daughters was in December 2024, when the family returned to Australia for Christmas following the tragic death of Nicole's mother, Janelle, earlier that year.
Their previous official outing together occurred 597 days ago, in July 2024, when Keith and Nicole cheered on Australian skateboarder Chloe Covell at the Paris Olympics with both daughters.
Keith Urban's Current Lifestyle
According to Woman's Day, Keith is now living a 'solitary' bachelor life in Nashville when not with his children. The publication claims he has cut ties with everyone connected to his past with Nicole. 'He's now living a life that's been completely purged of everyone to do with his past life,' a source stated.
Keith's Past Reflections on Fatherhood
In a 2018 interview with ABC News, Keith expressed his profound love for being a father to girls. 'I just love being a parent,' he revealed. 'I didn't know that I'd ever get to be one. It's an incredible feeling. And having girls – I love having girls. You know, I come from a family with no sisters, one brother. So, it's been quite the learning curve in a really good way.'
The contrast between these heartfelt sentiments and the recent interview snub underscores the emotional challenges the family faces amid their ongoing adjustments post-divorce.
