Katie Price's children have opened up about the devastating impact of her drug problem, revealing they were left feeling 'lonely and unloved' in her new tell-all documentary, 'Katie Price: Nothing to Hide'. The Sky Documentaries and NOW series delves into the personal life and career of the former glamour model, with the final episode focusing on her eldest children, Junior, 21, and Princess, 19.
Junior Recalls Distressing Incident
Junior described waking up at 3.30am to find his mother under the influence of drugs. 'I'll never forget the look on her face. She was obviously on stuff... I could see it in her eyes,' he said. 'It scared me because I've never seen my mum like that. She's there, but she's not there.' He added that when she wasn't in the right headspace, 'she wasn't being a mum. She wasn't being the mum that I knew from when I was a little boy.'
Princess's Emotional Recollection
Princess recalled her mother spraying a blanket with her perfume when she would leave. 'I remember after school I used to go home and feel so lonely, I used to cuddle the blanket and just cry,' she said. Junior moved in with their father Peter Andre for a time, expressing gratitude that his father was 'stable'.
Katie's Response
Following the premiere, Katie appeared on 'This Morning' and revealed that Junior and Princess had given her a heads up about their interviews. She said: 'Junior said: 'I proper broke down' and Princess said: 'So did I' and I was like 'Why?' I never knew because obviously I wanted to kill myself and I did try... That period of my life, I don't think people realise when I said I had a breakdown, I wanted to die, didn't want to be here. And so as much as I thought I was being a mum, I wasn't. I was vacant.'
'Katie Price: Nothing to Hide' is available to watch on Sky Documentaries and NOW.
