BBC to Snub World Cup Final Half-Time Show Featuring Justin Bieber
BBC to Snub World Cup Final Half-Time Show with Justin Bieber

The BBC has confirmed it will not broadcast the first-ever FIFA World Cup final half-time show, scheduled for July 19, which features Justin Bieber as a co-headliner alongside Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, and Coldplay. Instead, the corporation will focus on analyzing the first half of the match, with ITV expected to adopt a similar approach.

Half-Time Show Details

The 11-minute star-studded performance will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, during the interval of the World Cup final. All proceeds from the show will go to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise £74.5 million ($100 million) to expand access to quality education and football for children worldwide. The fund has already secured over £37.4 million ($50 million), with $1 from every ticket sold for FIFA World Cup 2026 fixtures being contributed throughout the competition.

BBC and ITV Broadcasting Plans

According to The Times, the BBC intends to maintain its traditional broadcasting structure: pre-match discussion, first-half action, half-time evaluation, followed by the second half. ITV is believed to be following the same plan, meaning UK viewers will likely miss the entertainment spectacle.
