Man Utd Set Rashford Deadline, Ederson and Santos Medicals Booked

Manchester United have set a deadline to arrange a transfer for Marcus Rashford, as they close in on the signings of Ederson and Andrey Santos. The club aims to sell Rashford before their pre-season training camp in Dublin begins on August 8, according to the Sun.

Rashford's Future Uncertain After Barcelona Pass

Rashford's future remains uncertain after Barcelona decided against triggering the option to sign the England international permanently for £26 million following a season-long loan spell. Instead, the LaLiga champions moved for Anthony Gordon, signing the winger from Newcastle for £70 million.

While Rashford is set for a return to Old Trafford, he is unlikely to be part of Michael Carrick's plans for the new season after announcing his decision to leave. However, the 28-year-old is adamant that he will wait until after the World Cup to sort out his next move.

He said: “I was very clear with everyone involved before the World Cup, I wanted [a transfer] done before. If it’s not, I wanted it to wait until after. I want to be fully present in the moment. We’re fighting for something special.”

Rashford’s Preferred Destinations and United's Stance

Rashford has been linked with moves to Chelsea and Tottenham, but is said to want to join a club playing in the Champions League next season. United are adamant they will not agree to let Rashford leave on another season-long loan and have identified West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville as a potential replacement.

Ederson and Santos Transfers Progressing

With Rashford on his way out, Ederson is on his way in. Manchester United is set to confirm their first summer signing earlier than expected after agreeing a fee worth £35 million, plus £3.8 million in add-ons, with Atalanta ahead of the World Cup. Ederson is expected to sign a four-year contract, but United had held off finalising the deal until Brazil's involvement in the World Cup ended.

Given the all-clear after Brazil were knocked out of the World Cup by Norway in the last-16, reports claim Ederson will fly to England this week to undergo a medical and sign a four-year contract.

Furthermore, Standard Sport understands that Manchester United have had a bid of £48 million plus an additional £2 million in performance-related add-ons that are viewed as easily achievable for Andrey Santos accepted by Chelsea. A medical is being booked for Santos as the Brazilian prepares to complete his move to Old Trafford.
