Katie Price's Kids Break Down in Tears Over Childhood Trauma
Katie Price's Kids Break Down in Tears Over Childhood

Junior and Princess Andre, the two children Katie Price shares with ex-husband Peter Andre, have opened up about the emotional toll of their mother's public struggles in a new documentary. In Katie Price: Nothing To Hide, the siblings describe the period around 2018 as "the most difficult time in our lives," when Price, now 48, was battling severe depression following her split from third husband Kieran Hayler.

Junior Recalls Breaking Point

Junior, now 21, said: "When (Kieran Hayler) cheated on her the first time, that literally broke her. That was probably the most difficult time of my life – of our lives – probably." He added that his mother "wasn't being the mum that I knew from when I was a little boy. The amount of love she gave me was so immense and that's what I missed so much."

Junior revealed he chose to live with his father, singer Peter Andre, during his teenage years because Price "wasn't in the right headspace" and "wasn't being a mum." He stated: "Mum was on drugs, and she could not look after us, and that's the reality of it. She couldn't. And then I got fed up. I clocked on that this was a very unhealthy environment, and I needed to get out."

Princess's Loneliness and the Scented Blanket

Princess, 19, recalled feeling "lonely" after school and relying on a blanket sprayed with her mother's perfume as a comfort object. She said: "(Katie) would give me a blanket and she sprayed all her perfume on it, and that was my attachment to mum. I remember after school, I used to go home and just feel so lonely. I used to just cuddle to the blanket and just cry."

Princess added: "I felt like I didn't know what was going on and I couldn't talk to mum about it, because she wasn't there." The teenager has since become a reality star and TV personality herself.

Contrasting Childhoods: Fun vs. Structure

Despite the hardships, Junior described growing up in separate households as "actually really fun." He said: "Mum is a very fun mum. Very loving, in her own way. There weren't really many rules, just imagine kids running around, high on sugar." Princess agreed: "You never have a boring day with her, there is always something going on in her life."

However, Junior credited his father for providing stability: "Thank God my dad was stable, because that's the house I went to and gained my sanity back. It made me feel like I wasn't good enough, because she wasn't fixing herself for me, she wasn't fixing herself for us." He noted that Andre's rules and structure helped maintain their "sanity."

Price's History of Mental Health Struggles

Katie Price, who rose to fame as a page three girl under the alias Jordan in 1996, has experienced multiple mental breakdowns, particularly in 2018 and 2021. She has previously stated that relentless media attention worsened her difficulties. The documentary Katie Price: Nothing To Hide airs on Sky UK.
