Katie Price's children have described her drug problem as the most difficult time of their lives in the new documentary Katie Price: Nothing to Hide, airing on Sky Documentaries and NOW. The final episode features emotional interviews with her eldest children, Junior, 21, and Princess, 19, who recount the period when their mother was using drugs.
Junior's Heartbreaking Recollections
Junior shared that the siblings would look after each other, recalling: “I remember trying to figure out if food was microwaveable to feed us for dinner… not that she didn’t feed us, but she was out all the time.” He described a particularly traumatic incident when he woke up at 3.30am to find Katie on drugs. “I’ll never forget the look on her face. She was obviously on stuff… I could see it in her eyes,” he said. “It scared me because I’ve never seen my mum like that. She’s there, but she’s not there.”
Princess's Emotional Struggle
Princess recalled feeling lonely and using a blanket sprayed with her mother's perfume for comfort. “I remember after school I used to go home and feel so lonely, I used to cuddle the blanket and just cry,” she said. Junior eventually moved in with their father, Peter Andre, expressing gratitude that his father was “stable”.
Katie's Response
Following the documentary's release, Katie appeared on This Morning, revealing that Junior and Princess had warned her about their interviews. She said: “Junior said: 'I proper broke down' and Princess said: 'So did I' and I was like 'Why?' I never knew because obviously I wanted to kill myself and I did try… That period of my life, I don't think people realise when I said I had a breakdown, I wanted to die, didn't want to be here. And so as much as I thought I was being a mum, I wasn't. I was vacant. For young kids like that wanting their mum. I was trying to be the perfect mum and obviously I wasn't. It kills me I put them through that.”
Katie Price: Nothing to Hide is available to watch on Sky Documentaries and NOW.
