Jennifer Lopez Shares Heartfelt Family Moment & Marriage Jokes at Vegas NYE Show
JLo's Vegas NYE Show: Family Embrace & Affleck Jokes

Global superstar Jennifer Lopez chose a profoundly personal way to ring in the new year, sharing the stage with her teenage children during her Las Vegas residency before opening up about her past struggles as a single mother.

A Midnight Embrace with Her Twins

As the clock counted down to midnight on New Year's Eve, the 56-year-old performer, dazzling in a fuchsia gown and matching feather boa, was joined by her 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme. During her 'Up All Night' show at Caesars Palace, Lopez gave her children a long, heartfelt hug in front of the cheering audience.

After Max eventually jogged off stage, the singer paraded her daughter around a little longer, planting kisses on both her cheeks before Emme, too, skipped away. The emotional moment highlighted the family bond at the core of the lavish production.

A Candid Confession: 'My Life Was a Mess'

Later in the performance, Lopez adopted a girlfriend-to-girlfriend tone with the crowd, sharing a vulnerable story from a difficult period in her life. She recounted being a newly divorced single mother to 3-year-old twins following the end of her third marriage to Marc Anthony.

"My life was a mess. I was a single mom for the first time," Lopez confessed. She revealed how a mentor, Louise Hay, advised her to treat life like a dance: to keep going even when you get the steps wrong. "I wish the same for you," Lopez told the audience. "No matter what life rolls your way, you dance and you dance and you dance again."

She then launched into her 2012 hit, 'Dance Again', embodying the resilient message she had just shared.

Playful Jabs at Past Marriages

The New Year's Eve show followed her opening night performance on 30 December, where Lopez made a series of light-hearted, sly remarks about her romantic history, notably her recent marriage to Ben Affleck.

Reflecting on her first Vegas residency a decade ago, she joked, "And, you know, at that time I'd only been married twice." After laughter from the crowd, she corrected herself, "That's not true, it was only once," before adding, "It felt like twice. I'm just kidding!"

She addressed the brief union directly, stating, "It's over, and I just — boom — we're fine. It's all good." Affleck was, in fact, her fourth husband. Lopez declared to fans that she is now in her "happy era," emphasising that she is "learning" and "growing" from her experiences.

The pair of performances blended high-energy spectacle with raw, personal reflection, showcasing Lopez's journey from a challenging period of single motherhood to her current chapter of self-professed happiness.
