Jennifer Lawrence reveals marriage secrets on podcast

In a refreshingly candid interview, Hollywood superstar Jennifer Lawrence has offered a rare glimpse into her private family life, speaking openly about her marriage, motherhood, and career during an appearance on the popular SmartLess podcast.

A Marriage of Opposites

The Oscar-winning actress, 35, described her husband of six years, former art gallery director Cooke Maroney, 41, as her complete opposite. "I married somebody who is the opposite of me," Lawrence revealed. "He is so organized. He is an anchor. Everything is ordered." She humorously noted that she has specific "little jobs" to maintain domestic harmony, such as remembering to keep closet doors closed.

The couple, who met in 2018 through her director friend Gene Stupnitsky and married a year later at Rhode Island's Belcourt of Newport mansion, have built a life together in New York City. Lawrence has previously gushed about their simple joys, telling Vanity Fair in 2021 that she loves grocery shopping with him, seeing it as a metaphor for their partnership.

Strict Schedules and a 15-Minute Wiggle Room

Now parents to three-year-old son Cy and a second baby boy born in March (rumoured to be named Louie), Lawrence explained how structure is key. The children are on a strict schedule, with breakfast at 7:30 AM, a routine Maroney excels at maintaining.

However, the Hunger Games alum admitted that to keep their marriage thriving, they've had to find compromise. "I have a 15-minute wiggle room," she confessed, attributing this to her self-described ADD, for which she joked she might need occupational therapy.

Career Updates and Award Season Buzz

Professionally, Lawrence is awaiting news on January 22 regarding a potential Academy Award nomination for her raw performance as a mother with postpartum depression in Die My Love. The film, which co-stars Robert Pattinson, was recently snubbed at the newly-named Actor Awards.

Looking ahead, the actress is "excited" to reunite with her Don't Look Up co-star Leonardo DiCaprio for Martin Scorsese's upcoming horror film, What Happens at Night. She also has a slate of other projects in development, including a Real Housewives-inspired murder mystery titled The Wives.

Fans can also expect to see Lawrence reprise her iconic role as Katniss Everdeen in the 2026 Hunger Games prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping, alongside Josh Hutcherson.
