JB Gill Reveals Family Life and Emotional Milestones on Farm

JB Gill and Wife Chloe Embrace Country Living and Family Milestones

Former JLS sensation turned television presenter JB Gill and his wife Chloe have opened the doors to their picturesque 11-acre Kent farmhouse, offering a rare glimpse into their bustling family life. The couple, who first met in 2008 when Chloe worked as a backing dancer on The X Factor, now navigate the challenges of parenting two energetic children while maintaining successful careers in entertainment and content creation.

A Sanctuary from City Life

Since relocating from South London to their sprawling Kent property in 2012, the family has embraced country living wholeheartedly. "We'd grown up in the South London area, but having access to the countryside and being able to enjoy everything it brings has been a massive sanctuary for us," JB explains. Chloe, who was raised in Surrey, shares this appreciation for the natural world, creating a harmonious environment for their children Ace, 11, and Chiara, seven.

The decision to leave behind London's fast-paced lifestyle has proven transformative. Each morning, the family wakes to wild ducks and rabbits scampering through their grounds, confirming their choice to prioritize space and tranquility over urban convenience. The kitchen serves as the heart of their home, where family and friends gather for home-cooked meals featuring produce from their own orchard.

Balancing Careers and Parenting

With JB's expanding television career including regular appearances on The One Show and co-presenting The NetMums Podcast, and Chloe's work as a content creator and professional dancer, the couple has developed sophisticated strategies for managing their hectic schedules. "In any relationship, communication is key," JB observes. "As husband and wife and as parents to our children, I think being open and honest is really important."

Their children have inherited their parents' creative talents, with Ace pursuing voiceover work, acting, and football at a professional academy level, while Chiara engages in modelling and acting. Chloe has become the family's primary chauffeur, transporting the children to various commitments across the country. When at home, however, everyone participates in farm duties, particularly caring for the turkeys they raise throughout the seasons.

Emotional Transitions and Family Values

The family is currently navigating significant emotional milestones, with Ace preparing to leave primary school. "It's a bit of an emotional time as a family because we're ending one chapter and about to start a new one," Chloe shares. JB remains conscious of balancing his career with family commitments, determined not to miss crucial moments in his children's development.

The couple emphasizes their united approach to parenting, ensuring they present a consistent front to their children. "What we try to do is back each other up in a scenario," Chloe explains. "Because at the end of the day, we have to be a team. The children can't divide us." This philosophy extends to their farm life, where every family member contributes to animal care and household responsibilities.

Transformation Through the Years

Life has evolved dramatically since JB's early days with JLS, when the boyband achieved four Top 5 albums after their breakthrough on The X Factor. "Back then, everyone would be getting ready to go for dinner after the show and then we'd probably head to a club or an afterparty," JB recalls. "Now, everybody's going back home because we've all got children to put to bed."

The Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the value of their rural setting, with the farm serving as both home and classroom during lockdowns. "We were homeschooling like everybody else," Chloe remembers. "Except we were using eggs to do counting with Chiara and with Ace. We really incorporated it into our homeschooling."

As they look toward their 20th anniversary and consider renewing their vows, JB and Chloe continue to cherish their countryside foundation. "Because we both come from the entertainment industry, it's great to have a foundation built on the countryside," JB reflects, acknowledging how their Kent farmhouse has become the perfect backdrop for their evolving family story.
