The lavish winter wedding of influencer Holly Ramsay and Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, held on 27 December 2025 at Bath Abbey, has become one of the most talked-about celebrity events of the year. While the day was filled with stunning detail, it was also marked by a stark contrast in family involvement and a deep-seated feud on the groom's side.
The Ramsay Family's Dominant Role in the Big Day
From the dress to the dinner, the influence of Holly's famous family was evident throughout the celebrations. Holly, 25, was walked down the 65-metre aisle of the 13th-century abbey by her father, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. He also organised the wedding breakfast at the Georgian Kin House, crafting a menu featuring beef Wellington with his team from London's Savoy Grill.
Holly's search for the perfect gown was a family affair, aided by her mother, Tana. She eventually chose a "modest, traditional" high-neck dress by Elie Saab, which made her feel "very princess-like" and reminded her of Grace Kelly. For the reception, she changed into a second, shorter Elie Saab dress. In a poignant tribute, Holly also wore her mother's own 1996 wedding dress for her first dance with Adam, which fitted her perfectly without alterations.
A Celebration Overshadowed by Family Strife
In stark contrast to the Ramsays' central role, Adam Peaty's family was conspicuously absent, with only his sister, Bethany, in attendance. The rift is believed to have intensified after Adam's mother, Caroline Peaty, was not invited to Holly's star-studded hen party at Soho House in Oxfordshire. Following this snub, most of Adam's relatives were reportedly uninvited from the wedding itself.
The tension culminated in a distressing text message sent to Adam by his aunt Louise just before the ceremony, expressing the "depth of pain" he had caused his mother. Despite the drama, the couple presented a united front, with both adopting the hyphenated surname 'Ramsay Peaty' on social media.
Personal Touches and Lavish Details
The wedding was filled with personal and luxurious elements. The bridal party, including Holly's sisters Megan and Tilly, wore custom red dresses by family friend Victoria Beckham. Holly carried a bouquet of white ranunculus, and her Amina Muaddi heels were a Christmas gift from Adam.
After the wedding, which doubled as Adam's 31st birthday, the couple enjoyed a 'hangover brunch' before a family dinner. Their honeymoon to Mauritius was a gift from Holly's parents, though Holly joked she had to tell Adam they wouldn't be planning it around a 25-metre pool. The couple, who got engaged in Crete in September 2024 after two and a half years together, are now looking to the future amidst the ongoing family tensions.
