Helen Flanagan Denies Throuple Claims as She Opens Up About David Haye Romance

Helen Flanagan has emotionally addressed her short-lived romance with boxer David Haye, firmly denying any involvement in a 'throuple' with him and his partner Sian Osbourne. The former Coronation Street star, 35, spoke out in a recent interview promoting her memoir, Head and Heart, where she details the relationship that ended in December 2023.

Flanagan and Haye, 45, first met on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2012, but their romantic connection did not develop until over a decade later. Haye, who practices polyamory and maintains an open relationship with Osbourne, invited Flanagan to accompany them to a boxing event at Wembley, sparking the brief affair.

In her memoir, Flanagan acknowledges being aware of the couple's association with 'throuples', but insists: 'I'm not a prude, but I've never been into that – it was David I liked.' During the interview, she became tearful when recalling buying a Cartier Trinity bracelet for Haye's birthday and delivering it to his hotel room. 'Why did I do that? Because I wanted him to love me properly,' she said, adding: 'It was such a toxic situation.'

Flanagan has consistently described the relationship as a 'situationship' rather than a full romance, and previously told Celebs Go Dating: 'I didn't mean to fall in love with him but I did... It just brings me to a part of my life that was quite dark, really.' She also expressed guilt over Haye's girlfriend, saying: 'I felt really guilty about it... but I was just really lonely.'

The actress, who has three children with ex-partner Scott, remains single after splitting from boyfriend Robbie Talbot last year. She is focused on co-parenting her children and has said she has since 'learnt to love myself. To be a stronger woman.'
