Harry Hill Revealed as Red Panda in Latest Masked Singer Unmasking
The hit ITV singing competition The Masked Singer continued its seventh series on Saturday night with another dramatic celebrity reveal. Red Panda was unmasked as comedy icon and television legend Harry Hill, best known for fronting the beloved show TV Burp in the 2000s.
Red Panda's Final Performance and Judges' Guesses
In the episode, Red Panda performed the Black Eyed Peas classic I Got A Feeling, but it wasn't enough to save them from elimination just before the semi-final. The panel of judges made their final guesses on the celebrity's identity:
- Maya Jama speculated it might be comedian Chris Ramsey.
- Davina McCall theorised it could be actor Brian Cox.
- Mo Gilligan suggested it might be McFly's Tom Fletcher.
- Jonathan Ross thought it could be comedian Rufus Hound.
All were proven wrong when the mask came off to reveal Harry Hill, who has been entertaining British audiences for decades with his unique brand of surreal humour.
Harry Hill's Reaction to the Experience
Upon his unmasking, Harry told host Joel Dommett: "I'm not a natural singer, my wife heard me the other day, and she thought I was choking on a Pot Noodle!" When asked if he enjoyed the experience, he admitted: "No. Yes of course I enjoyed it! The weird thing is, you put the thing on and you've got no inhibitions. The only downside is you're breathing your own breath because it's all trapped, and I had falafel for lunch!"
Recent Unmaskings on The Masked Singer
Harry Hill's reveal follows several other high-profile unmaskings in the current series:
- Last week, Anton Du Beke was revealed as Arctic Fox after performing Barbra Streisand's Woman In Love. The Strictly Come Dancing judge expressed devastation at being voted off but revealed he joined the show to surprise his children.
- Just before that, singer Kate Nash was unmasked as Monkey Business, having performed As Long As He Needs Me from Oliver!
- Earlier in the series, Shakespears Sister star Marcella Detroit was revealed as Gargoyle, while former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) was unmasked as Yak, and rap star Professor Green was revealed as Teabag.
- In the very first week, BBC's The One Show presenter Alex Jones was unmasked as Disc Jockey.
The competition is now edging ever closer to the final, with viewers eagerly anticipating which celebrity will be crowned the winner of this unique and entertaining singing contest that has captured the nation's imagination.
