Gracie Abrams Posts Intimate Birthday Tribute to Paul Mescal

Singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams has shared a series of deeply personal and romantic photographs to mark the 30th birthday of her actor boyfriend, Paul Mescal. The 26-year-old musician, known for her hit That's So True and daughter of filmmaker JJ Abrams, took to Instagram to post several affectionate snaps featuring the Oscar-nominated star, with whom she has been romantically linked since 2024.

A Dual Celebration on Social Media

Mescal's birthday coincidentally falls on the same date as Abrams' childhood best friend Clementine, making the Instagram post a dual tribute to two of her closest confidants. The gallery included multiple intimate moments captured between the couple, ranging from photobooth kisses to a candle-lit dinner scene. Abrams accompanied the images with a heartfelt caption directed at her 5.7 million followers, writing: 'P❤️ Clemmy❤️ My whole heart!!!!!!!!! I love February 2… Happy birthday❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love you both more than words could ever describe. Thank you for making everything better.'

Additional photos showcased Mescal wearing a Gracie Abrams hoodie and the couple enjoying al fresco dining, highlighting their supportive partnership. This public display of affection arrives just one month after Mescal opened up about his intention to slow down his professional commitments in order to prioritise personal relationships.

Mescal's Career Priorities Shift

In a rare discussion about his private life on GQ's YouTube series 21 Questions to Fall in Love, the Irish actor revealed his evolving perspective as he approaches his thirties. Currently filming a Beatles biopic where he portrays Paul McCartney, Mescal reflected on his work rhythm since graduating from drama school in 2017, stating he now desires more time for family, his partner, and friends.

'I've never had a desire to really spend my time anywhere else other than work up until this point,' Mescal explained. 'And now I do have a desire to not spend my time necessarily in a rehearsal room or on set.' He noted that his typical breaks between projects rarely exceed eight or nine weeks, with much of that time dedicated to recovery and preparation for the next role.

Personal Passions and Future Plans

The Normal People star expressed interest in taking an extended backpacking holiday in South America and discussed plans with a friend to carve out six weeks for the trip. Additionally, Mescal credited his relationship with Abrams for sparking a newfound passion for baseball, specifically as a devoted Boston Red Sox fan. He described attending his first major league game at Fenway Park last year and now watches highlights regularly.

Mescal's comments about valuing personal time follow his previous revelation to Rolling Stone last autumn, where he shared his hopes of eventually starting a family. 'I would love to have a family,' he said at the time. 'I'm not like, "I want them tomorrow," but I would love to have kids.'

A Growing Yet Private Romance

Abrams and Mescal have been dating for approximately two years, first spotted together publicly in June 2024 at BRAT Restaurant in London. They made their debut red carpet appearance at the History Of Sound premiere in June last year and have since been seen attending festivals and supporting each other's professional endeavours.

Despite their increasingly visible relationship, Mescal remains protective of his privacy. In October, he emphasised: 'I'm not comfortable inviting any access into that part of my life. How I am in my private life is so precious to me because I get very little of it.' This makes Abrams' latest Instagram tribute a notable glimpse into their cherished bond.
