Faith Ward, a breakout star of Netflix's America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders season three, has made history as the first New Zealander and fourth Australian to join the squad. The 23-year-old rookie cheerleader, known for her incredible flexibility and signature ponytail, is one of only six new members selected for the 2025-26 NFL season.
Early Life and Dance Career
Born in Wellington, New Zealand, Ward moved to Australia at age 10. She began dancing at just two years old and started competing at age 10. At 18, she joined Smash Dance Company in Australia before working as a dancer on a major cruise line for nearly a year.
Making DCC History
Ward celebrated her selection in an Instagram post, writing: "So beyond grateful and blessed to turn my biggest dream into a reality. This journey has been incredibly challenging, both physically and mentally, but I wouldn't change a thing!" She joins a squad that includes veterans and rookies competing for six open spots, with increased pressure from the show's global audience.
Unique Ponytail Look
Ward is the only cheerleader to wear her hair in a ponytail, a suggestion from coach Kelli Finglass, who noted her resemblance to Ariana Grande. Ward agreed, saying, "Your girl doesn't want to have her hair out, sweaty in her face, dancing." She also grew her hair longer and blonder for the role.
Life Beyond Cheerleading
Aside from dancing, Ward works as a content creator and makeup artist, known as 'Flexi Faith' on social media for her flexibility. She was raised by a supportive single mother, as she shared in a TikTok video: "My mom clapped so hard for me I didn't notice my father was never there."
