Matty Healy's Aunt Responds to Taylor Swift's 'Smallest Man' Track

Matty Healy's family have responded to speculation that Taylor Swift's new song 'The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived' is about him, with his aunt offering a withering assessment of the singer. The track, from Swift's 11th album 'The Tortured Poets Department', includes lyrics about a man in a 'Jehovah's Witness suit' and 'rusting my sparkling summer', which fans have linked to Healy, known for wearing black suits on stage. The pair briefly dated last spring before reportedly splitting in June 2023.

Healy's aunt, Debbie Dedes, told MailOnline that her nephew is 'very happy in his new relationship' with model Gabbriette Bechtel and will not be surprised by the song. 'Nothing surprises him any more,' she said. 'Him and her know what went on.' Dedes, sister of Healy's mother Denise Welch, added: 'She writes about all her relationships, doesn't she?'

Dedes hinted that Healy has his own version of events that he has chosen not to share publicly. 'As my nephew, we know a bit more about what went on than has been in the press,' she said. Swift has described the album as capturing a 'fleeting and fatalistic moment in time', with fans analysing lyrics for references to her personal life.
