Speaking Out on Health Struggles
Beyond the red carpet, Delilah Belle Hamlin has recently been open about her personal health battles. In an appearance on the She MD podcast in December, she detailed her difficult struggle with endometriosis.
She explained that the condition, which affects an estimated one in ten women in the United States, caused her to have more frequent seizures around her menstrual cycle. "I would get really hot, and I would start convulsing," Hamlin shared, describing the severe impact it had on her life.
Endometriosis, where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, is known to cause debilitating pain, fatigue, and can lead to infertility. Hamlin expressed frustration with her diagnostic journey, recalling, "I had really painful periods, and I saw so many different gynaecologists and no one mentioned endometriosis."
The model underwent surgery four months ago to remove endometrial implants, a procedure which has since relieved many of her challenging symptoms. Reflecting on her experience, she offered advice to others, stating, "I'm very grateful, but you do have to do a lot of research on your own." Her candid discussion highlights the importance of awareness and advocacy surrounding women's health issues.
