Davina McCall was forced to apologise during the BBC's live Comic Relief broadcast after co-presenter Nick Mohammed used strong language. The incident occurred when Mohammed struggled to solve eight Rubik's Cubes in one minute as part of a challenge, with former rugby player Joe Marler attempting to disrupt him using a water pistol.
After the 60-second challenge failed, Mohammed turned the cubes to spell 'sorry' — an apology for banishing Marler in the final of The Celebrity Traitors. Walking over to McCall, she told viewers: 'Before we go any further we just wanted to apologise if anybody heard any bad language there. It was a very high stress situation.'
Mohammed, confused, asked: 'Did I say… Was it me?' McCall replied: 'I'm not sure, let's not go over it again.' The studio audience laughed, taking the moment in good spirits.
The 2026 Red Nose Day show, titled Funny for Money, raised £30,004,040 for charity. McCall also became emotional during a segment about a mother who lost her child and now helps other mothers in her community.
