Celebrity Chef Colin Fassnidge Blasts Trolls Over 'Greasy Hair' and 'Old' Looks

Celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge, the 52-year-old star of My Kitchen Rules, has delivered a fiery and expletive-ridden takedown of online trolls who attacked his appearance, labelling them as 'nasty and bored' individuals. The outspoken Irish-born restaurateur posted a video to Facebook where he directly confronted critics who had slammed him for having 'greasy hair', looking 'old', and being overweight.

Viral Facebook Video Attracts Massive Attention

In the clip, which has garnered an impressive 3.1K likes and 194K views since being posted on Tuesday, Fassnidge began with a candid reflection on his social media presence. 'Thought of the day,' he started. 'So I got locked out of Facebook a few years ago, got back in, f**k knows why.' He then launched into his main critique, targeting what he described as 'middle-aged privileged white people who are just nasty and bored.'

The celebrity chef didn't hold back, dismissing the negative commentary with a defiant 'f**k that, it's going on, sweet baby.' Filmed while taking a walk, Fassnidge appeared fit and healthy in the video, sporting just a slight grey in his black beard, contradicting the trolls' claims about his appearance.

Direct Quotes from Vile Messages

Fassnidge proceeded to quote some of the abusive messages he has received on the platform, revealing the extent of the criticism. 'Jesus, "your hair's greasy, you're fat, you're looking old",' he recited. He also addressed attacks on his professional work, particularly his popular Channel Seven travel series, Off the Grid with Colin and Manu, which he co-hosts with fellow chef Manu Feildel.

'"The show's sh*t, you're sh*t, your food sh*t",' Fassnidge quoted, before adding his own retort: 'Mate some of these people need a good dentist and a bit of moisturiser.'

Mixed Reactions from Followers

The post attracted a flood of supportive messages from his followers, with many rallying behind the chef. One fan commented, 'You are the best,' while another said, 'Love you! Love your cooking! And you look amazing!' A third offered blunt advice: 'F**k 'em, mate.'

However, not all responses were positive. Some critics continued the mockery, with one person writing, 'Your hair's greasy, and you're just s**t lol... Grumpy old fart.'

Background: Recent Legal Troubles

This social media outburst comes in the wake of Fassnidge's recent legal issues. The TV presenter was charged with driving under the influence of cocaine after being stopped for drug and alcohol testing on November 8. Police from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command conducted the test at around 3.20pm while he was driving a grey ute on Malabar Road in South Maroubra, with the test allegedly returning a positive result for cocaine.

Appearing in court last month, Magistrate Jacqueline Milledge criticised Fassnidge for using illicit substances, reminding him of his influence. 'You've got a lot to lose and when you lose, so does everyone else who's invested in you,' she said, warning him not to use cocaine as a 'release valve' for his struggles.

The magistrate declined to record a conviction, instead sentencing Fassnidge to a two-year good behaviour bond, noting the impact on his life and family. This marks the second time the TV star has faced court for the same matter, having previously copped a fine for a similar offence in 2022.

Colin Fassnidge, who married his long-term partner Jane Hyland in 2006 and shares two daughters, Lily and Maeve, continues to navigate the pressures of celebrity life amidst both public scrutiny and personal challenges.
