Claudia Winkleman Quits Talk Show After One Series, Admits Nerves
Claudia Winkleman Quits Talk Show After One Series

Claudia Winkleman has made a major career decision by quitting her BBC talk show, The Claudia Winkleman Show, after just one series. The 54-year-old presenter, who left Strictly Come Dancing last year, admitted she was 'too nervous' to continue the chat show format.

Claudia's Decision to Leave the Talk Show

Speaking about her exit, Winkleman said: 'Sometimes you have to try something to see how it fits, and I realised I was just too nervous to enjoy it. Maybe one day I will give it another try, but for now I already have the best jobs in the world and absolutely love the shows I’m doing.' She expressed gratitude to the BBC, guests, and production team.

The show aired for only seven episodes earlier this year, featuring A-list guests such as model Chase Infiniti and Friends star Lisa Kudrow. It launched in Graham Norton's usual timeslot and received positive fan reactions, though some critics noted a timid interview style compared to Norton's sarcastic tone.

BBC's Response and Future Projects

Ed Harvard, BBC's director for entertainment, praised the show as 'an absolute joy' and fully respected Winkleman's decision. He confirmed that Winkleman will return to the BBC later this year as host of The Celebrity Traitors, calling her 'the host of the country’s most-watched show'.

Winkleman remains busy with other commitments, including hosting The Traitors and its celebrity version, as well as brand ambassador roles for Head 'n' Shoulders and the National Lottery.
