Christina Aguilera sent fans into a frenzy by turning back the clock and recreating her infamous 2002 'Dirrty' era. The 45-year-old pop superstar, who shot to global fame with 1999's 'Genie In A Bottle', rebranded herself three years later with her provocative album 'Stripped', giving birth to her legendary 'Xtina' alter-ego.
Y2K-Inspired Outfit at HIV Awareness Event
On Sunday, October 11, Christina attended MISTR's second annual National PrEP Day Celebration at The Abbey Food and Bar in West Hollywood. She wore a black, translucent, body-hugging dress layered over a minuscule leather mini-skirt, with thigh-high boots and long blonde tresses cascading freely.
The look echoed her iconic 'Dirrty' music video, which featured a steamy underground boxing ring where she famously rocked a minuscule bikini and cut-out PVC chaps. Leather chaps, barely-there bandana tops, and dangerously low-rise denim became her ultimate wardrobe staples during that era.
Fans React to Ageless Appearance
Reacting to pictures posted on social media, one admirer gasped: "Is that Xtina? My God she looks great." A second added: "For real Xtina photo looks like it was cropped from 1999." A third commented: "She looks damn fine!" While a fourth X user agreed: "Xtina looks amazing!"
Alongside Christina, National PrEP Day was also graced by numerous other celebrity guests, including Charli xcx, Kesha, Demi Lovato and Chappell Roan.
Her Approach to Ageing
Unlike countless stars who sidestep the cosmetic surgery topic, Christina has been completely transparent. In 2023, she teamed up with Merz Aesthetics as a spokesperson for Xeomin, an anti-ageing injection comparable to Botox. She has been candid about depending on a "little help" to soften wrinkles, but consistently stresses achieving natural results.
"I don't want to have a frozen face," she noted, highlighting her desire to maintain her facial expressions for the stage. Christina has also highlighted how self-assurance can make you appear glowing. Adopting what she describes as an "old school approach", she added: "I'm really into feeling more self-assured as you get older. That's the thing to truly embrace."
