Reality TV star Chris Hughes has expressed his deep gratitude towards his girlfriend, pop sensation JoJo Siwa, following a lavish dual celebration for his birthday and an early Christmas in the United States.
A Festive Stateside Surprise
Ahead of their first Christmas together in the UK, Hughes flew to the US to spend the festive season with Siwa and her family at their parents' home in Palm Springs. The visit coincided with his 33rd birthday on Monday, which was marked with an extravagant surprise party orchestrated by Siwa.
Taking to Instagram, the former Love Island contestant shared a gallery of snaps showcasing the elaborate decorations and gifts. The celebration had a strong football theme, honouring Hughes's support for Sunderland A.F.C., complete with team-themed paper chains, streamers, red balloons, and a large custom cake.
"A very special birthday & early christmas in the states, feel very grateful," Hughes captioned the post. "Thank you all for the bday wishes, merry christmas everyone, ho ho ho."
Relationship Milestones and Future Plans
The couple, who met on Celebrity Big Brother in April, confirmed their romance just weeks after leaving the show, having initially formed a close friendship in the house. Their bond has deepened rapidly, with the pair now dividing their time between the UK and the US.
In a recent interview, they revealed they have already discussed marriage. Siwa joked that she would be the one to propose if Hughes hadn't "got down on one knee in seven years," but Hughes was adamant he would be the one to pop the question. "It shouldn't take you seven years to work out if you want to marry someone," he stated.
Despite the current US trip, they confirmed they will be spending the Christmas holiday itself with Hughes's family in England.
Sweet Tributes and Family Time
JoJo Siwa also shared a gushing birthday tribute to her boyfriend on social media, writing: "This day 33 years ago was a good good day… the day my favorite person was born. Happy birthday to my love. I couldn’t imagine a life without you in it anymore."
Chris Hughes's Instagram post offered a glimpse into their family-oriented visit. Alongside the party images, he shared photos from a golf day with JoJo's father, Tom, a sweet moment of the couple playing cards with Siwa's grandmother, and a cosy snap of Siwa wrapped in an Elf-themed blanket. The post also showed the mountain of Christmas presents and lavish decorations at the Siwa family home.
The pair have vehemently denied accusations that their relationship, which blossomed on television, is a mere 'showmance' for publicity. They insist their connection is genuine and built on a solid foundation formed during their three weeks together in the Big Brother house.
