Chloe Madeley marked her 39th birthday with a family dinner that included her ex-husband, former England rugby player James Haskell, and their three-year-old daughter Bodhi. The trio dined on fish tacos, as documented in photos shared by Madeley on Instagram.
Background of the Relationship
Chloe Madeley, daughter of television presenters Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, began dating James Haskell before marrying in a lavish Berkshire ceremony in 2018. In February 2022, Haskell announced on ITV's Good Morning Britain that the couple were expecting a baby girl. Their daughter Bodhi was born later that summer.
Separation Announcement
The couple announced their separation in October 2023, while their ITV reality show Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair was airing. In a joint statement, they said: “We had not planned on releasing a statement at this time - certainly not while the television show was airing - but constant speculation about our marriage has, unfortunately, forced our hand.”
Birthday Celebrations
Taking to Instagram, Chloe shared images of the birthday dinner, including a photo of just her and Haskell, who held a cigar. She captioned the post: “Birthday weekend.” The celebrations continued with a meal featuring her parents, Richard and Judy, who smiled while enjoying wine.
Friends and followers flooded the comments with well-wishes. @verity_farr wrote: “My favourite team! Hope you enjoyed.” @thetimetravellingwriter added: “Bodhi has a great mum and dad. Happy belated birthday Chloe.”
Haskell's Reflections on the Split
Weeks earlier, James Haskell appeared on the No Parental Guidance podcast, where he admitted he “probably didn't support her [Chloe] enough” prior to their split. He said: “I had a lot of DJ gigs away. For the first time that part of my career was going well. I would stay out an extra night and wouldn't come home, and I probably didn't support her enough. I didn't get that stuff right.”
Haskell also revealed that Chloe encouraged him to join the E4 series Celebs Go Dating. He noted: “I was on the fence, and she encouraged me to go for it. She's a good friend and my co-parent, and we're very transparent with each other. I feel lucky to have that support, it makes everything feel collaborative, and it's a relationship I truly value.”
He added: “Everything I fell in love with in her – her intelligence, her strength – is what I still look for in people.”
