Viewers of the BRIT Awards 2026 were left confused after Angry Ginge, real name Morgan Burtwhistle, appeared to be censored during his appearance on stage. The I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here 2025 winner was presenting the international song of the year award alongside darts star Luke Littler at Manchester's Co-Op Live on Saturday night.
As he took the stage, Ginge, who is from Salford, said: 'Hello Manchester. It's an absolute privilege to see the Brits in Manchester because it shows that people are realising London is a sh**hole!' The comment was met with cheers from the audience, but the expletive was bleeped out for viewers at home.
Social media users quickly reacted, with some questioning why the show had censored the remark given it was after the 9pm watershed. One viewer wrote: 'What's the point in allowing Angry Ginge to speak if you won't allow us to hear the punchline? It's after 9pm, you watch a live show at your own risk!' Another added: 'I've never known the Brits bleep out so much stuff? What is happening.'
The awards ceremony was hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall for the sixth year and marked the first time the event has been held in Manchester. Harry Styles opened the show with a performance of his single 'Aperture' accompanied by a gospel choir.
Despite the censorship, Ginge's comment was widely shared online, with one fan calling him an 'icon' for his unfiltered remark. The pair went on to present the award to Rose and Bruno Mars for their hit song 'APT'.
