Angelina Jolie has reportedly listed her historic Los Feliz, California mansion for $29.85 million, a move that aligns with her previously stated intention to leave the United States after her youngest children reach adulthood.
The Cecil B. DeMille Estate
The property, listed with Sotheby's, is the historic 11,000 square-foot Cecil B. DeMille estate, designed in Beaux-Arts style. Built in 1913, the home features six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. The two-acre lot includes a swimming pool, pool house, guest house, tea house, and arched fountains. The mansion boasts a grand wood-paneled dining room, an old farmhouse-style kitchen, multiple living spaces, a stunning library, and bedrooms with large terraces offering breathtaking views. The winding staircase is a notable architectural feature.
Jolie's Plans to Leave the US
Two years ago, Jolie shared her desire to leave the United States after her youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 in July 2026. Listing the home now appears to be a planned step. In an August 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she sparked rumors of leaving Los Angeles, stating she is only there 'because I have to be here from a divorce.' At the San Sebastián Film Festival in 2025, Jolie said, 'I love my country, but I don't at this time recognize my country,' citing concerns about US politics. She also expressed a preference to live in Cambodia and Europe.
Background on Jolie and Pitt
Jolie purchased the home for $25 million in 2017 after separating from Brad Pitt, who had a property nearby. The former couple co-parents six children: Maddox, 24; Pax, 22; Zahara, 20; Shiloh, 19; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17. Several children have dropped Pitt from their last names, suggesting estrangement. Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016, citing irreconcilable differences. They reached a settlement in January 2017, agreeing to keep proceedings private. Their joint property portfolio included a New Orleans mansion sold in 2016 and Chateau Miraval in France, where they married. Jolie has not dated since the split, while Pitt has moved on with jewelry executive Ines de Ramon. In August 2025, Pitt purchased a $12 million Spanish-style mansion in Los Angeles' Outpost Estates.
