Amy Dowden treated her followers to a glimpse of her holiday album as she shared a series of snapshots from her getaway to Mallorca with husband Ben Jones this week. The 35-year-old Strictly Come Dancing star posed on the beach in a strapless black bikini with gold accents, accessorized with a straw sun hat and sunglasses.
The professional dancer showcased her impressive figure in the skimpy two-piece, standing against a backdrop of stunning crystal-clear waters. Other photos included a glamorous shot with Ben before heading out for dinner, where she wore a striped pastel-toned dress. Amy's hair was slicked back, and she completed the look with stud earrings and strappy sandals.
In the caption of her social media post, she mentioned they were relaxing before the 'craziness begins again.' Amy wrote: 'The sea was calling. A very last minute trip booked for a few days of relaxation before life gets even crazier.'
Upcoming Reborn Tour
At the end of May, Amy will embark on her Reborn tour with fellow Strictly alum Carlos Gu, which they first launched last year. The show blends storytelling and dance, drawing from their real-life journeys. Amy's segment reflects her recovery from breast cancer and return to dancing, while Carlos's story covers his life changes and finding freedom and identity in the UK.
The dancers initially launched the show in spring last year, touring multiple UK venues before announcing an extended run. Neither Amy nor Carlos have been confirmed for the next series of Strictly, but they are also not among those who have been axed from the show.
Strictly Come Dancing Changes
Last month, Amy and Carlos dodged questions about Strictly's mass sacking on BBC Breakfast. Gorka Márquez, 35, Luba Mushtuk, 36, Michelle Tsiakkas, 30, Nadiya Bychkova, 35, and Karen Hauer, 43, have been dropped from the program. Amy, who has been on the show since 2017, and Carlos, who joined in 2022, appeared to discuss their live tour.
During the chat, host Charlie addressed the changes, saying: 'You will both be aware, I'm sure, it's that time of year where there's a lot of speculation about which dancers are going to be on Strictly Come Dancing.' Amy replied: 'Nothing has come from the BBC officially, yet. We're really hoping to be back dancing with our gorgeous Strictly family later this year, but wait until any official announcements are made.'
Charlie continued: 'This is a job for you, so it's like speculating whether or not you've got a job or not.' Amy responded: 'We put our heart and soul into it, we love it.' Carlos added: 'It's our life! It's not only work. For us, as a dancer, it's the best platform you can ever be on.'
A source told The Sun: 'There are major changes taking place with dancers having meetings about their contracts over the next few weeks. Bosses want a fresh start and to bring in new faces after all the drama in recent years and create a new era.'
Gorka Confirms Departure
Last night, Gorka confirmed his permanent departure from Strictly, ending uncertainty about his future. He wrote on Instagram: 'After last year's decision to step down as a full-time professional due to scheduling conflicts between Strictly and Dancing With The Stars Spain, I've decided that now is the time to hang up my dance shoes and say goodbye to Strictly Come Dancing.' He expressed gratitude for the opportunity, which allowed him to build a career, find love, start a family, and make lifelong friends.
Luba joined the show eight years ago but has not had a celebrity dance partner in recent years. Michelle joined in 2022 and got her first celebrity partner in 2024, paired with Jamie Borthwick, but they were eliminated in week 10. The Daily Mail revealed Nadiya has been dropped after eight years, and Karen, the longest-serving female professional, has also been axed.
