Amy Childs' Intimate London Wedding: TOWIE Star's Emotional Day
TOWIE favourite Amy Childs and her fiancé Billy Delbosq finally exchanged vows in a romantic and intimate ceremony in central London on Saturday 11 April. The reality star, 35, and Billy, 42, were surrounded by close family and friends for their chic wedding day, which followed a challenging year that saw the original ceremony postponed due to her mother Julie's sudden heart attack.
Stunning Bridal Style and Emotional Arrival
Amy looked sensational as she arrived at Marylebone Town Hall with her emotional father and bridesmaids. She wore a show-stopping white lace gown from Debra Chigwell, chosen just days before the ceremony, featuring a structured, corset-style bodice. Eschewing the traditional bridal veil, Amy opted for an elegant cape draped over her shoulders and complemented her look with a chic bob hairstyle.
Bridegroom Billy was joined by his son Billy Jr ahead of the ceremony as they greeted guests. The newlyweds beamed as they left the register office, with joyful tears reportedly flowing as they kissed on the stairs for photographers.
Bouquet Catch and Family Moments
When Amy tossed her wedding bouquet, it was caught by her cousin and fellow TOWIE star Harry Derbidge, who joked, "Now all I need is a partner." Amy's daughter Polly tried to grab it first, adding to the day's playful moments.
The wedding was a deeply family-oriented affair:
- Amy and Billy got ready together in the morning, with Billy only leaving as Amy prepared to put on her dress.
- Her father Billy arrived with bridesmaids, giving his daughter an affectionate peck on the cheek before walking her into the ceremony.
- Amy's eldest daughter Polly, who turns nine next week, penned and read a heartfelt poem for her new stepfather, including the line: "Bill you make us happy every day, in your kind and special way, you may not have been there from the start, but you are somewhere in my heart."
- The couple's three-year-old twins Milly and Billy Jr stayed close to their parents throughout, even during the vows.
Overcoming Challenges and Celebrating Love
The wedding came after a difficult period for the family. Last year, Amy had to postpone their original October wedding when her mother suffered a heart attack during a holiday in Tenerife. The family flew home immediately and cancelled their planned ceremony at Cliveden House in Berkshire to focus on Julie's recovery.
Amy expressed her emotions on Instagram after the wedding, writing: "Still can't believe I am married, I'm still in a bubble and I don't want it to end... However we are onto planning our next wedding." She also shared video moments, including sipping champagne at Claridge's before the ceremony.
Celebrity Congratulations and Mini-Moon
Famous friends including Ferne McCann, Lauren Goodger, and Rylan Clark swiftly offered congratulations. Rylan wrote: "This is so beautiful. Made up for the pair of you."
The newlyweds enjoyed a lavish minimoon in London, staying at Claridge's and treating themselves to a spa day with the children and lunch at Gordon Ramsay's exclusive Lucky Cat restaurant. Billy raved about their stay on Instagram, thanking the hotel for accommodating them in a special way.
The couple got engaged in 2023, just weeks after welcoming their twins. Amy's wedding day fulfilled a long-held dream, referencing her appearance in the first episode of TOWIE where she modelled a bridal gown and told cousin Harry: "I can't wait to one day wear a wedding dress." With her mother Julie proudly looking on, Amy and Billy finally had their fairy-tale day.
