Amanda Holden Shares Hilarious Holiday Prank by Husband Chris Hughes
Radio presenter and Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has opened up about a cheeky prank her husband Chris Hughes played during a family holiday, admitting it makes him look "really bad" but is "very funny." The story emerged during a discussion on her Heart FM show about wardrobe malfunctions, where Holden argued such mishaps aren't just a female issue.
The Center Parcs Pool Incident
Holden recounted an incident from years ago when the couple visited Center Parcs with friends. She described how Chris pulled down the trunks of their friend's father as he was holding a child in his arms while exiting the pool. "He had nowhere to go except walk out of the pool with a baby in his arms," Holden said, laughing at the memory. When asked if the friend ever got revenge, she noted that Chris has since learned to secure his own swimwear with a double knot, making retaliation difficult.
Insights into Holden and Hughes' Home Life
Amanda Holden, 55, and Chris Hughes, 51, married in December 2008 and have two daughters, Alexa and Hollie. In a recent interview with The Times, Holden provided a glimpse into their domestic routine, highlighting the role of their rescue dogs in welcoming her home. "I kick off my heels then lie on the floor so the dogs can lick my face," she said, referring to Rudie, a 14-year-old Yorkshire terrier/Jack Russell cross, and Minnie, a one-year-old toy spaniel/shih tzu cross.
However, household rules are strict when it comes to the pets' sleeping arrangements. Holden explained that while she isn't fussy, her husband insists the animals sleep downstairs. "I love it if my husband's away because then they'll sleep on the bed with me," she added, revealing a slight relaxation of the rules in his absence.
Rescue Pets and Feline Feuds
The couple also has a rescue cat named Bolt, whom Holden rescued from the Greek island of Corfu while filming with comedian Alan Carr. Bolt joined another cat, Muffy, but the pair don't get along well. Holden shared on her Heart FM show earlier this year that Muffy has become spiteful since Bolt's arrival, even urinating on their bed out of jealousy. "She's got no kidney infection, nothing. We know it's spite," Holden said, noting they've consulted cat behaviorists to address the issue.
Holden described Muffy's transformation from a "beautiful serene princess" to a moody cat, highlighting the challenges of integrating new pets into the household. Despite this, she remains dedicated to her rescue animals, showcasing her playful family dynamics and the humorous, sometimes chaotic, moments that define their home life.
