Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall has celebrated the start of 2025 with a romantic kiss from his girlfriend, Ellie Dolan. The pair, who went public with their relationship in May 2024, shared intimate snaps from their at-home New Year's Eve celebrations.
A Loved-Up New Year's Celebration
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, human resources co-ordinator Ellie Dolan posted a selfie where she was seen sharing a passionate kiss with the 43-year-old soap star. The image offered a glimpse into their private celebrations as they marked their first New Year together as a couple.
Further pictures from the evening showed the couple surrounded by Alan's family, including his brother Ste and his mother, Michelle Roberts. The cosy, family-oriented gathering suggests the relationship has been warmly welcomed by Halsall's close relatives.
A 'Serious' Romance Blossoms
According to reports, the relationship between Halsall and Dolan was already considered 'serious' by May 2024, despite the pair keeping a relatively low public profile. A source told The Mirror at the time: 'Alan is really happy. Ellie is a great girl and they have lots in common. And she gets on so well with Sienna, which is so important to Alan. Sienna is his world.'
The couple reportedly met at the Marriott Worsley Park club, where Alan is a member and Ellie works. A representative for Alan previously declined to comment when contacted by the Daily Mail about the romance.
Past Relationships and a Health Focus
Alan Halsall, best known for playing mechanic Tyrone Dobbs on the ITV soap, was previously in a five-year relationship with his Coronation Street co-star Tisha Merry, 31. The pair split in 2024 after first dating in 2019.
Prior to that, Halsall was married to Hollyoaks actress Lucy-Jo Hudson. Their marriage ended in 2018, and they share an 11-year-old daughter, Sienna. Following his divorce, Alan embarked on a significant health and fitness journey, transforming his physique through a strict diet and gruelling workout regime.
He has spoken publicly about attending the gym at least three times a week and is a fan of hot yoga. In 2019, he revealed to The Sun details of his intense sessions, which sometimes saw him burn over 2,000 calories. He often shares his fitness progress on social media alongside co-star Colson Smith, who has also undergone a dramatic weight loss transformation.
