Rapper Aitch faced one of his most terrifying challenges yet on Tuesday night's episode of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! when viewers voted for him to take on the Jungle Doomsday Trial, which featured an unexpectedly aggressive baby crocodile.
The Doomsday Vault Challenge
After being selected by the public, the 25-year-old musician approached the task with determination, acknowledging that previous campmates Ruby and Ginge had set high standards. "The pressure's on, Ruby and Ginge set the bar pretty high," Aitch told the Bushtucker Telegraph before beginning. "I know in my heart I'm gonna smash it and I'm gonna give it my all, that's all you can do."
Hosts Ant and Dec introduced Aitch to The Doomsday Vault, described as a secret underground bunker designed to safeguard the future of Bushtucker trials. The vault contained everything needed for trials hidden underground in case of catastrophe, including 10 hidden stars that would equal 10 meals for the hungry camp.
Aitch had just 10 minutes to locate all 10 stars, but true to Bushtucker tradition, he wouldn't be searching alone in the confined space.
Crocodile Confrontation and Gruesome Obstacles
The trial began dramatically as Aitch was immediately sprayed with red paint for decontamination upon entering the vault, leaving him completely covered. "I look like Ginge!" he joked, maintaining his humour despite the challenging start.
His search for stars led him through increasingly difficult obstacles, including putting his hands into hell holes filled with lizards, mud crabs and yabbies. The most dramatic moment came when he encountered the aggressive baby crocodiles that repeatedly jumped up to bite him whenever he leaned in to retrieve a star, causing him to scream in surprise.
To psych himself up during the ordeal, Aitch began singing Peter Andre's "Mysterious Girl" and later, "Let's Get Ready to Rumble!" as he continued his star hunt through offal, slime and fish guts before being covered in cockroaches, crickets and mealworms.
Dramatic Escape and Camp Reactions
With time running out and deactivate mode triggered, Ant and Dec urgently warned Aitch to evacuate the vault before it self-destructed. The rapper made a valiant army roll escape just seconds before a smoke explosion erupted from the bunker.
"You told me it was gonna blow, so I had to go James Bond!" Aitch explained to the hosts about his dramatic exit technique.
Despite his efforts, Aitch managed to collect seven out of 10 stars in what Ant and Dec described as a particularly challenging trial. He returned to camp to recount his terrifying experience with every animal he encountered in the vault.
Viewers quickly took to social media platform X to react to the crocodile scenes, with one writing: "Fair play to Aitch, he's getting stuck in. Those mini alligators were vicious! #imaceleb #imacelebrity" while others expressed shock at the reptile's aggression toward the rapper.
Other Camp Developments
Elsewhere in the episode, Alex Scott opened up about her relationship with singer Jess Glynne, revealing "I think before her, I never knew happiness" and sharing details of their first meeting at Chiltern Firehouse. When asked about marriage prospects by Ruby Wax, Alex confirmed "I will get married to her, just waiting for her to ask, Rubes!"
Shona McGarty also discussed her struggles with anxiety, admitting "I get social anxiety a lot" while Alex Scott shared how Jess encouraged her to come out of her shell in social situations.
The episode began with camp drama as Ginge accidentally put out the campfire while attempting to cook beans, prompting Aitch to suggest "some rules and regulations need to be put in place, because Ginge can't keep putting out the fire!"
This led to an emotional camp meeting where Eddie tearfully expressed feeling like part of a family, telling Martin Kemp "I literally look at you like my dad" while Kelly Brook also became emotional about finding her place in camp dynamics.
