Marks & Spencer has launched a new Percy Pig advent calendar for 2026, priced at £7, and shoppers are divided over its contents. The calendar, available in Food Halls and on Ocado, features 24 doors, each containing a solid pig-shaped milk chocolate described as “moreish” and “creamy”.
For fans of the traditional gummy Percy Pig sweets, the calendar also includes a bag of ‘Merry Percmas’ fruit-flavoured sweets behind one door as a festive surprise.
Shoppers question chocolate twist
Reactions on social media have been mixed. On the UK Newest Foods page, some shoppers questioned why the calendar uses chocolate rather than the classic gummy sweets. One fan wrote: “But why is it chocolate, would be so much better to be a different Percy pig each day?” Another commented: “Why is it chocolate... that ISN'T Percy Pig! Come on Marks and Spencer.” A third added: “A mini bag of different Percy pigs each would day be better.”
However, not all reactions were critical. Many shoppers expressed excitement, with one saying “Oh em gosh,” another posting “I need,” and a third tagging a friend with “we need this.”
Other festive countdowns at M&S
M&S has also introduced a Big Daddy advent calendar this year, priced at £12 on Ocado. This 24-day countdown contains bite-size versions of the popular chocolate bar, including peanut bites and pistachio bites. Both the Percy Pig Advent Calendar (RRP £7) and the Big Daddy Advent Calendar (RRP £12) are available in Food Halls now.
