Chilling new details have emerged about the death of Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets, who died by suicide on April 22, 2026. A previously unreleased 911 call shows Sheets was suffering from horrific cyberbullying in the lead-up to his death, telling police he was being threatened.
911 Call Reveals Threats
In the call, released through Us Weekly on Thursday, July 16, Sheets can be heard telling officers at Lake Havasu Police Department that he was being threatened by online bullies for almost two months. He frantically pleaded for help, saying: "Tonight, they just sent me a demand ransom text stating that I had 24 hours to take care of it or they’re going to burn my shop down and they’re going to get my girlfriend in Orange County."
Sheets claimed he knew who the alleged tormentor was and gave authorities a name. The operator confirmed a police officer would be dispatched to gather more information, and the call then quickly cuts out.
Suicide Note Cites Facebook Bullying
Sheets died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home. In a suicide note left hours before his death, he referenced "Facebook bullying," saying it was so intense he "couldn't take" anymore. His girlfriend called 911 shortly after the incident, explaining he had gotten out of bed unable to sleep and told her to "go back to bed" before a single gunshot was heard.
Speaking to the 911 operator, the girlfriend said: "I know he's been just frustrated with this no sleep and his kids. Terrible, terrible."
Former Co-Star Confirms Trolling
Former co-star Rene Nezhoda stated that Sheets was the victim of brutal trolling in the months leading up to his death. In a statement, Nezhoda said: "He had this guy, like, really, really tormenting him lately and cyberbullying [him] and I really hope [officers] look into that guy and it's just not a pass."
Lake Havasu Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Sheets' death.
